I am 21years old and about 150 pounds. I am trying to get back down to 125-130pounds. I just joined the gym. I want to know if 45mins a day on the excercise bike would help me lose weight and tone up? also do the excercise bike work for your stomach?

  1. All the exercise in world won’t help much unless you diet as well.

  2. It’ll help, but you’ll need to do more than just that. Eventually your body will get used to it, since you’ll always be using the same muscle groups, and it won’t provide as much benefit to your metabolism. But it’s a great start!

    Incorporate strength training and other exercises (running, walking, elliptical, Zumba classes, step classes, etc) along with the bike riding, eat healthy and drink water, and you’ll be on your way.

Yes it will help you lose weight if you watch what you eat. minimize carbs at night. heavy meal should be done at breakfast then gradually reduce the amount of food in your lunch and dinner. carbs should be in the morning and lunch then lots of vegetables and right amount of protein at night. thats how i lost weight from 150 now im down to 130 and im only 5’4″ by the way…

    carbs = energy
    protein = building/repairing muscles

    check your BMI first if you’re overweight or you just need to be toned. good luck!

  6. i ride 1hr a day and lose about 1lb a week without dieting.and i don’t use much resistance on the bike either. i just pedal a normal speed or just a little faster. the only eating restriction is that i keep my carb intake to about 30g a meal. which is like 2 slices of bread, or 1 cup of pasta,rice,cereal,potatoes.
    it helps your stomach some because you can put you hands on your stomach when you ride and feel the muscles moving.
