I have felt down and I feel that healthy living will help me pick things up again.

I know the whole eat healthy with excercise thing is the main component behind this plan. Are there certain supplements that I should be taking to boost mood? Are certian foods proven to help cope with low mood?

  1. Well one food that contributes to depression is sugar. I would totally cut out sugar and corn syrup. Try honey, stevia or agave syrup, all all natural sweetners that are good for you. Also try to get a good nights sleep. Our body makes mental changes, physical changes, emotional changes while we sleep. Also if you’re tired, your ability to metabolize goes down, so more food is turned into fat, especially sugar. Also getting vitamin D is essential to your mood, that means at least 5 minutes of natural light/sunlight a day. :-} I’m also combating my depression with diet an exercise.

  2. at fiirst it will be depressive but just get motative make exercise your best freind and think of food as treats get urself exicted about trying new healthy foods and new exercises and jsut think after ever session you will have that relief that wow ive actually done this ull feel great that your on the way to getting a good shape then to have just sat there on couch craving food, try do classes you enjoy an dont lose contact with mates or family and dont have your mind stuck on exercise too much x

  3. One of the best things you can do is take Omega 3 supplements.

Go to a health food store and ask for a good brand. (Some brands can carry a lot of toxins… but there are some really good ones out there.)

Omega 3′s have been proven to be beneficial to many aspects of health, including good mental health. Omega 3′s can help regulate mood… and help treat depression… bipolar disorder… and other mental health issues.
A few foods that are a good source of Omega 3′s are: Wild salmon, walnuts, flax seed, and canola oil.
A good exercise regime, and a healthy balanced diet are also helpful in treating depression.

A friend a mine was suffering from post-partum depression, and started taking omega 3 supplements… she said she felt back to her old self in no time…

So, good luck!! It may not be a bad idea to also talk with your health care provider.
