I am trying to lose some weight, and was wondering what excercise equipment has helped you achieve your goal? It can be anything, including something homemade, or just a certain type of excercise, or routine? Also, any tips on losing weight? Please help, as I feel kind of like I am stuck in a rut.
Thanks,

Without question it is the Cybex Arc Trainer.
It is a good piece of equipment that not only works cardiovascular and legs, but you can really work the upper body too.
It is the only piece of equipment I have been able to burn 1100 calories in an hour with.
That is almost double a bicycle or treadmill.
Way too expensive to own. See if a gym nearby has one.
Good luck.
First of all, remember your diet. Exercise is great but diet is 80% of your weight loss success so it’s important to feed your body the right foods. Lots of lean meats and veggies and whole grains and WATER.
Now, I don’t own any fitness equipment (except for my doorway pull-up bar) and I don’t belong to a gym so I can tell you that you don’t need all kinds of expensive equipment to lose weight.
Here are some of my homemade workout tools that I use:
Sandbag – 35lbs (I used thirty five bags that are 1 pound each) of rice wrapped up with duct tape (to prevent ripping). I use this for weighted workouts like squats and lunges, power cleans and get-ups.
Reverse push-up bar – two slat backed chairs with a broom/mop stick running between them.
Any stool/stairs – step-ups
One of my favorite workouts is a circuit. It goes something like this:
30 seconds of burpees
10 sec rest
30 seconds of reverse push-ups (lay on your back and pull your chest up to the bar)
10 sec rest
30 seconds of mountain climbers
10 sec rest
30 seconds of side-step-ups (left leg)
10 sec rest
30 seconds of side-step-ups (right leg)
10 sec rest
30 seconds of burpees
10 sec rest
30 seconds of T push-ups – regular push to T plank
I repeat this circuit a total of 5 times. I do the exercises at my max effort for the 30 seconds and the 10 seconds really only gives you time to get ready for the next exercise.
It’s a great workout that really pushes my body. I don’t know what your fitness level is but this works for me and you can customize it to make it easier (shorter intervals) or more difficult (longer intervals) if you need to. Of course, you should always mix things up a bit so I do this three times a week and I also run, take spinning classes and do yoga

Good luck and have fun with it!!
